Midwestern Mecca
Touted as the "Cape Cod of the Midwest," Saugatuck/Douglas rests in the midst of the sparkling waters of Lake Michigan and sand dunes. The beaches are clean, beautiful, and prime for some extreme dune buggy fun. Blue Star Highway seems to be the place for most of the gay action, including the famous (or is that infamous?) Dunes Resort where you can get your dance on to top notch DJ sets, drink in the sights, sounds and cocktails of the resort, and cruise the white sands for sport or romance. There is also a lot of history and culture in this town, and if you're a fan of murder mystery parties, many of the accommodations offer weekend events to intrigue your super sleuth.
